The Problem
Hawthorne Effect solves medical trial issues of high patient dropout rates and missing trial data by using a network of highly trained medical professionals called HERO’s who go straight to the patients home to conduct visits. However, Hawthorne Effect currently relies on their HERO's to manage and complete visits with an outdated platform, only available on a computer. This has caused miscommunication between the nurses in the field and Hawthorne HQ resulting in confusion and improper directions for medical visits.
The Challenge
Create an app that Hawthorne's medical professionals (aka HERO's) can use to manage and stay on top of their visits. The app should aim to improve visit follow-through rates and reduce poor communication between Hawthorne Effect HQ and HERO's in the field.
User Interviews
User Personas were created by interviewing HERO's working with Hawthorne Effect to identify their needs and painpoints.
User Flows
User flows allowed me to optimize the path a user would take to complete a given task within the app. It really sped up my design revision's while allowing me to clearly communicate my design to management.
Hi-Fidelity Prototypes & Features
Login and Upcoming Visits
The upcoming visits feature allows Hawthorne's medical professionals to accept/schedule appointments while allowing Hawthorne HQ to keep track of the visits that have been booked/completed.
Visit Overview and Details
To solve the issue of confusion and mistakes during appointments with patients, I designed a page that would give the HERO a step by step walkthrough to follow while at the appointment.
Appointment Walkthrough
To solve the issue of confusion and mistakes during appointments with patients, I designed a page that would give the HERO a step by step walkthrough to follow while at the appointment.
Availability
This feature allows for quick and easy scheduling of appointments by medical professionals working for Hawthorne Effect, establishing a clear way for both Hawthorne HQ and their HERO's to keep track of appointments.
